Aim
East - West Development Group (EWD) is the European association of national honorary representatives of the Russian and CIS government authorities to facilitate East - West business development.
Philosophy
EWD focuses on establishing well balanced and fair relationships between all Western and Eastern stakeholders to assure a long-lasting business success for the benefit of the host country. The ultimate aim is to channel Western business interests to the East increasing sustainable foreign direct investment in Russia's and the CIS' emerging market economies.
In particular, EWD develops and supports Western investor relations with Eastern federal and regional government and semi-government authorities on a decision-making level. Each member has a long-standing consulting experience in facilitating East - West business development. Therefore, EWD represents a powerful international network offering services in nearly all fields necessary for structuring sustainable cross-border business undertakings.
EWD's members are dedicated to bridging the differences between cultures: to recognize inherent cultural differences underlying business problems, to create respect for each others' points of view and to develop mutually acceptable solutions to reconcile the seemingly contrasting issues which caused the apparent business problem. Within the specific context of the Eastern society, EWD especially recognises the necessity of involvement of the federal, regional and local government authorities.
EWD's philosophy is based upon the importance of strong personal relations in successful East - West business development. We treasure the individual human touch as each investment project is different and requires its own approach.
Target group
EWD is customized for Western enterprises active or starting to be active in Russia and other CIS-countries. In particular, we target large Western companies already active in Russia and CIS for whom stable and positive relations with the federal and regional authorities at a decision-making level matters. For those companies needing support in Eastern public affairs, partner-search and match-making, EWD can be a useful partner. In addition for those interested in creating a multinational cross-border business structure involving financial support from Western and Eastern national and supranational institutions, the independent and international network of EWD can serve as your preferred national consultant.
Network
EWD through its members maintains offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Fribourg, Paris, Milan, Wiesbaden, Moscow and Kiev as well as associated offices in Beirut, Frankfurt/Main and London. In cooperation with the Russian and other CIS' governments, EWD has outlets in nearly all Russian republics and regions, as well as in most regions of Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and other CIS-countries.
